IDRN 1100 - Community Based Disaster Preparedness

Description: The Community Based Disaster Preparedness course is designed to teach individuals and families the necessary steps to prepare for a disaster and how to survive a disaster. The course provides a step-by-step approach to disaster preparedness by walking the trainee through identifying their local hazards, developing and maintaining an emergency communications plan, and developing a disaster supplies kit.
IDRN 1100 also covers topics such as evacuation, shelter, go-bags, and disaster survival. In addition, the course provides in-depth information on specific hazards and how to handle each hazard. Trainees will learn how to prepare for a hazard before, after, and during a hazards occurrence. Once the 1100 training is completed, each participant will receive an IDRN badge, making them an official member of the International Disaster Response Network.
